wifi has been the most insane techonology that can happen. Back then we didnt have wireless at public places. We had dial ups.. and cables.. but now you can go online without cables... at the airport... or at starbucks... or even on a bus... Wifi has grown so much throughout the years... It is so convienent to use wherever you go... So Wifi is basically with us everywhere now....For some smartphone users.. they say that using wifi on their phones is even faster than using their 3G... Wifi is everywhere!

Facebook scams threatens to delete account??

hey everyone,
i hope you all have a good thanksgiving, but sadly school starts again....
anyways.. on msn.com i read an article talking about a scam that is going around on facebook. The scam is about facebook sending emails to people asking for their private information and if the people would not email facebook back with the information, then facebook will delete their account. This is a scam because... well obviously facebook wouldnt do this kind of thing. People wouldnt be dumb to actually send out the information because they want to keep their account.... Anyways.. facebook is such a huge company that whatever they do... we might believe them because they are so successful. If you get an email that doesnt sound right.. then dont reply! because it is most likely a scam.

What does kids want for christmas??

so i've read an article on msn about what kids want most for their christmas present this year. I was surprised of what i read. Kids want most for this holiday is an iPad. i know right?? ipad.... technology has gotten so advanced even the kiddies want these things. As time goes on, kids are going to be more technological more advance than the adults in the future!! anyways, this is going to be a short blog because i dont know what to write about.... thanksgiving is coming up! yummy food! ok happy holidays!

Occupy

Hey all!!
So this blog isn't about electronics.. Technology and such but it's about the protest that happened this last Thursday. It's call Occupy and its about students and teachers protesting about education and the budget cuts and money. I heard and saw that it was happening throughout colleges around states. But I heard a story that happened on UC Davis campus.. There is a video that is going around on the Internet and it shows students making a barrier sitting on the floor and the policeman peppered spray their faces to make them leave. This event was caught on camera. It is just insane of what can happen during protests and how extreme policemen can get. This is just wrong of the cop who sprayed the students. They didn't do anything wrong. They were just standing up for what they believed an yet they get punished for it. I hope that cop gets suspension or something because what he did was wrong!

iphone 4s battery life sucks...

hey guyss and galss...

if you have been reading my posts... on one of my first few posts that i posted... i mentioned that i got an iphone 4s...

everything about this phone is awesome!!! well because it is my first iphone.... HOWEVER... there are some... well one bad glitch about this phone that i HATE!... which is the battery life on this phone. Ever since i got this phone... i have been charging it for at least twice a day because the phone has been draining the battery life. At night when i go to sleep... lets say the battery life is about 100% but when i wake up the next morning its about 90%.... i think... maybe im exaggerating.. but its true!! .... where did all the battery% have gone??? was Siri surfing the internet by itself when i was asleep?? was she playing my angrybirds? i hope not!! then where has the battery life gone to?? i simply have no idea....

anyways the other day, a friend who has the same phone as me told me to update my software because apperently Apple has made an update... and a part of the update was to fix the battery life on the iphone4s... so obviously i HAD to download this... and ever since... the battery life has been ok i guess.... whenever i dont use the phone, the battery % does not go down dramatically... but when i play games or surf the net... the phone uses battery life pretty quickly...

have i seen an improvement ever since i updated my phone??? well that is the golden question.... and the answer is.. I have no idea.... it seems the same to me.... -.-."
oh wells... Apple will just have to figure out a better way to update this issue....

Google vs Apple!

hey guys! so on msn.com... i read an article online talking about competition between google and apple. Apple company is having all these advance technologies, that it is making google lose some business. So much people have purchased the iphones. But when iphone 4s came out, even more people purchased this phone. The iphone 4s came out with a new app called Siri. She is a network search engine where iphone users can ask her for information. But Siri does not use Google's database to find her information. Therefore, whenever and whoever has iphone 4s will not be searching up things on google anymore. So this is one of the reasons how Apple is excelerating over Google.

Technology saves lives!

so i read an article on msn.com under the technology subject, and the article was about how computers speeds up rescues for firemen. In an emergency every second counts to save a persons life. When a 9-1-1 call goes in, the dispatcher can send out automatic voice messages, address, images, and maps with a computer key. Then the nearest firestation goes and saves people. Luckily with the fast technology, in south Denver dispatch time has been reduced from 60 seconds to 31 secs. Every second counts in saving a life. So this is a really good improvement.

computers disappearing?

hello there again!
technology has grown in so many ways throughout time. Here techology is so advance that many scientists are just making more and more models... We used to rely in computers to do so many tasks for us. Back then people would have to do things by ourselves meaning people would punch in numbers and equations in the computer system to get something done... Now there are so many wireless technology that we can depend in to make out lives easier. Computers has served us well..

horizon vs gmail...

hey all...
so here is a rant about this new policy.. system.. or whatever that is linking our horizon.csueastbay.edu email to our gmail.com.... it is so annoying... -.-
whenever I sign on to my gmail account... I tend to not sign out because its just a hassel to retype my account name and password... but NOW.. if I dont sign out of my gmail.. I cannot sign on to my horizon.csueastbay.edu or I think the horizon email site will just automatically log me off and sign me onto my horizon account... who would make up such a thing?? to link both accounts?
this is how advance technology can be... it can screw up our lives...

Smartphone Hackers?

on msnbc.com, i read an article about experimenting people putting smartphones near their computer and the smartphone can be sending your every keystrokes to a hacker.. what?? So students at Georgia Tech's School tried this experiment. They first tried it on the iphone3GS to see if the other side can recieve the vibrations and try to figure out what the person was typing. But it was very faint. So they tried it with the iphone4 and it had much better signal wth the vibrations from the computer. So i guess hackers can use smartphones and decipher what you are typing on your computer.

Oh Siri....

So i got my new iphone4s, and the newest feature on apple phones is a program called Siri. Siri knows everything. You ask her a question... she'll know the answer. She even has a sense of humor... Example.. me : "i love you siri" siri : "i hope you dont say that to other electronic devices" and etc. The other day when i was driving... i had to send a text message to my sister. and so instead of using my hands to text.. ill just tell siri to do it. when im driving... i can tell siri to tell me how the traffic is like on 880South. On youtube, i saw a video where a person talked to siri in French, and the program who replied had a male voice. woah! so i decided to try to talk to siri in chinese (canto) and it didnt work!! she just kept saying " i dont understand" ... fail....... anyways here's my rant....

Future of Technology!

Hello fellow studentss, today for this blog post I did not know what to write about. So I decided to go on msn.com and looked for articles about technology and science. On the main page, there is an article posted about wireless bike brakes. First thing I thought about was... what happens if the wireless brakes fail? wouldnt a lot of people get hurt? worst invention ever....  

Anyways I read the article and it is about

researches developing this invention that... and i quote "works almost all the time" umm... thats not reassuring... anyways  how this wireless brake works is by when you want to stop.. you simply just "clenching" the rubber grip on the handle instead of pulling the lever. Well... while riding a bike arent you already "clenching" the rubber part??? then you would constantly either slow down to brake... or even braking... what kind of invention?? and then later in the article it mentions that in Europe or somewhere international, they are testing out this wirelesss brake for trains... What?! thats just ridiculous... I know technology is improving.. but having wireless brakes is just kind of over the edge... I mean if these "wireless brakes" were for emergency... then ok... but not for daily usage.... its just insane of researches are trying to come up with the darnest ways with technology...

skynet?

hey everyone! for mondays assignment we had to read an article about the future and what not. Anyways here are my thoughtsssss. I dont think there will be such things as robots. It is crazy that the thought of having robots in our world is crazy. This reminds me of the movie irobot. 

In this movie, if i remember correctly, robots took over the world. At first it was really cool and amazing how robots can do what we do. But unfortunately the robots became bad and started taking over . Then this is where Will Smith comes in and saves the world. See in my opinion robots are a very bad idea.... i really believe that robots can never ever take over our world. 

question..

i just pre-ordered an iphone4s.... and after clicking "place my order" i had a excitement burst. i thought to myself.. that this is my first iphone and it is going to be really awesome with a cool phone... but then after.. i thought to myself... how did apple get so famous?? why is everyone or most of the people obsessing with apple?? the iphones arent even 4G yet... so that means their internet connection is slow right? why are people obsessing with the iphones?? because they are slicker? cooler? lots of apps??? well you're right. LOL there are soo many different awesome things you can do with a smartphone... so why do i sound like a noob about apps and smartphones? because i have never had one in my life.... so i am really excited to recieve it next week!

iphone4s???

hello everyone. iphone4s came out a few days ago and everyone is talking about it!! i heard a lot of disappointments from people because of the name. The Apple compnay chose the name to be iphone4s instead of 5. I think the newest iphone should be called iphone4s because it only has imporved specs in the phone... its not a dramatic change.... so it doesnt need to be called iphone5 yet..... when the time comes like when the Apple designers change the style of the iphone or add very dramatic changed like.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzsBwnv_dAg&feature=related .. this... then it should be called iphone5... but now i am having a hard time deciding whether i should get my first iphone as iphone 4s or just iphone4.... man.... decisions.. decisions....

Dreamweaver..

Hi all....
in basics of new media we were taught to make a cite with text wrangler... when using text wrangler to make a website.. you would type in the codes and then refresh the page to see what you have... but in dreamweaver... it is sooo much easier! i was soo amazed of how quick and easy you can create a whole site by just using this program... and well of course... adobe flash... and photoshop... but when krys told the class to watch the videos on dreamweaver... i was kind of like "what the heck" but then while watching it.. it was very interesting! i learned soo much and i want this program in my mac!! what a dreamm! lol

First Blog Evaaa!

My name is Jennifer Cao. I am a student at CSUEB. This is my first blog ever and these are the thoughts i am typing out while writing this blog.. I have thought about making a blog about my daily life... fashion.. and what not.. but never have thought to be for a class. But i guess its cool... we can all read each others posts and stuff.
Anyways... i dont really have any.. like how should i say it... encounters? issues? with technology?? I am a simple person... i just use my mac for online purposes... and i dont really read anything about technology and etc... However at the end of next month.. i am planning on getting my first iphone. Ive always wanted one... like i have seem soooo many people using it nowadays... and i cant imagine how my life would be like when i get one... I would probably be on my iphone 24/7... checking emails... surfing the net... and especially facebook! i dont know how facebook got so popular... i dont even have that many friends -.-
